Acupuncture in Seward

Doctor applying acupunctureUsed for several thousands of years, acupuncture is a form of Traditional Chinese Medicine. This system of healing involves locating and stimulating specific points along the body, striving for balance on each side.

When an imbalance exists, a disease process adversely impacts our health. Through the stimulation of these precise points, we can boost the flow of energy to that area. Acupuncture is highly effective for all types of pain, such as back, knee, shoulder and fibromyalgia. More than 2,000 conditions are recognized to be helped by acupuncture.

Electric and Traditional Acupuncture Available

Needles aren’t necessary for you to experience the many healing benefits of acupuncture. Though Bell Chiropractic uses traditional acupuncture on those patients who desire it, typically, we use electrical acupuncture. With this form of acupuncture, a small electric current is passed between pairs of acupuncture needles. A certain frequency is used to stimulate acupuncture points. The treatment only takes a few seconds.

Do the Needles Hurt?

If you’d like to try traditional acupuncture, you may be concerned about the needles. Rest assured that the needles are fine and hair-like. The approach we use is extremely controlled. We place the needles shallowly into the skin. Acupuncture should never hurt. It just may be mildly uncomfortable, but never painful.
